The Fork! Factory! is the sixth episode of The Wingfeather Saga's second season. It premiered on May 10, 2024 for Angel Guild members and was temporarily streamed for everyone on August 9, 2024.
Synopsis[]
Janner is forced by the Overseer to work alongside other kids and create Fang weapons.
Plot[]
Janner is woken up by a kid with a bell who announces the shift change. Janner heads to the mess hall and tries to socialize with the other children, but they are disinterested. Janner is led to his station by one of the Maintenance Managers and is given an explanation on what he has to do. Janner pares weapons for several hours and eventually tries to escape, but before he can make it to the doors, Sara stops him and he is caught by the Maintenance Managers and knocked unconscious.
Artham is approached by the Stone Keeper who offers to help make him whole. When he shows his concern for the children waiting in line to be melded, the Stone Keeper promises to let them go free, should they want to, if Artham sings all of the song of the ancient stones, and Artham reluctantly agrees.
Janner wakes up in a large box and panics when he realizes he can't get out. He has a vision of Leeli playing her whistleharp by a campfire and Kalmar locked up in a Strander cage. Janner is taken to the Overseer's office when he is let out, and he notices a machine that summons apples from pipes into the office for Mobrik. The Overseer takes notes on the result of Janner being in the box for two days. He believes Janner has what it takes to be a Maintenance Manager and he tells him if he tries to escape again, he will spend three nights in the box instead of two.
During one of his shifts, Janner asks a boy if he knows Sara Cobbler. The boy tells him to spill his soup at dinner, and Janner does just that. Sara comes to clean up the mess and Janner tells her he has a plan to get them out of the Fork Factory. During another shift, Janner sneaks over to the pipes and pulls them open to grab a few apples. At another shift, Janner receives from the same boy a helmet with "bullyblossom" carved into it and the boy says it is from Sara.
