History[]
Season 1[]
Leeli & The Sea Dragon Song[]
During Dragon Day, Nia had given a quilt and some butterbread to Mrs. Gunkle, whose husband had just been taken by the Black Carriage. When the Dragon Day games had ended, she was looking for the children. She eventually found them at the cliffs, having heard Leeli singing, and she interrupted the song and brought the kids back home.
A Mysterious Map[]
Nia had been working at the Igiby Cottage for the majority of the episode.
The Catacombs Below[]
When Janner told Nia and Podo that the Black Carriage took Sara, Nia and Podo visited Mayor Blaggus to ask that he request for the Fangs to return the girl. The mayor, however, was uncooperative.
Escape to Peet's Castle[]
When Nia and Podo returned home and found the Cottage had been raided, Nia desperately searched for the children. She eventually found Nugget had been locked inside her closet. Podo decided that they should split up to find the kids, so Nia went to see if the kids were at Oskar's. When she arrived at Books and Crannies, Oskar told her that the kids weren't with him. He asked Nia if the kids were aware of Anklejelly Manor, and Nia decided to search for the kids there.
Nia and Oskar headed to Anklejelly Manor, but all they found from the kids was Tink's lighter. Nia picked up a sword with "Esben Wingfeather" written on it, and Oskar tried to comfort her. Before they left Anklejelly Manor, Nia found one of Peet's socks. Nia dropped Oskar off at the town before heading home. Later on, the Fangs attacked the Igiby Cottage after being given orders to arrest the Igibys, and they had Nia captured. When Podo tried to fight the Fangs, Nia pleaded with him to run away.
Fruit for Zouzab[]
Nia and Podo were both locked up within the Glipwood jail. Gnorm came into the room and began questioning them on where the Jewels of Anniera were, but Nia and Podo kept on denying that they had the Jewels. Later on when it was dark, the children came and freed Nia and Podo, and the family attempted to escape, but they were suddenly ambushed by the Fangs, and they learnt that Zouzab had betrayed them to Gnorm. Later on, the family were being taken to the Black Carriage. Nia and the children quickly tried to flee when Podo began attacking the Fangs using a dagger that Tink had taken from Anklejelly Manor.
When a Fang knocked Podo to the ground and prepared to kill him, Nia ordered the Fang to stop, telling the Fang that if she strikes Podo down, they will never know anything about the Jewels of Anniera. Nia then led the children as she made her way to the Carriage, but when Peet came and attacked the Fangs, Nia quickly led the children to safety. She then proceeded to help Podo. When the battle was over, Nia accepted Peet after he felt ashamed about being with the family. Nia and her family then went to Books and Crannies to find Oskar, and they found him wounded, having been stabbed by Zouzab.
Oskar explained to Nia and her family that they had to flee while they still could, because Zouzab had alerted Fort Lamendron and that a whole garrison of Fangs were coming. Nia and her family returned to their Cottage one final time and grabbed supplies and eventually left their home.
The Jewels of Anniera[]
After arriving at Anklejelly Manor, the family were attacked by a few Fangs. When one of the Fangs was about to harm Janner, Nia pushed a statue over, causing it to squish the Fang. Later on in the weapons room, after Janner set the mansion on fire to attract every creature in Glipwood Forest, Podo suddenly collapsed due to loss of blood, and Nia rushed to his side and tended to his wound, begging that he stays with them. Podo requested for her to sing him a song, and Nia sang "My Love Has Gone Across the Sea" to him.
The next day, when Nugget and Peet broke into the weapons room, Peet saw Podo dying, and he quickly healed him using water from the First Well, which Nia thought had been lost for ages. After Podo was completely healed and he got up, the family stayed at Peet's castle to get some food and rest, and there, Nia, Podo and Peet revealed to the children that they were the Jewels of Anniera. Nia then gave each of the kids a gift that Esben had prepared for them weeks before he died.
Season 2[]
Flight of the Wingfeathers[]
Nia was in Artham's tree house preparing food for the journey as the boys trained outside. Kalmar attempted to sneak in and steal some food, but Nia stopped him. When she was done, she joined Leeli outside and watched Artham set up traps. She listened on as Leeli told Artham about her disappointment in having to just play her whistleharp and Artham explained how the whistleharp in Leeli's hands is more powerful than ten bows. After Podo told Artham the traps need to be set before dark, Nia was asked by Leeli if she knows why Artham has talons. Nia tells her she doesn't know and that Artham turned up in Glipwood one day when they all thought he had died and that she never saw him without socks over his hands. Leeli then asked why Podo doesn't like Artham.
Nia explained that as they were fleeing Anniera, a Fang tried to rip Leeli from her arms which resulted in Leeli's crippled leg. Artham had fought off the Fang, but Wendolyn, Nia's mother, was shot by an arrow and Podo's sadness toward that turned to anger. After Oskar came yelling that trolls were coming, Nia was quick to treat his wound using the water from the First Well. Nia and her family grabbed their supplies and began fleeing as the Fangs approached. When they reached a gully, Nia and the others began to cross it. Nugget became drowsy when he reached the bottom and Nia told Janner to help him. When Kalmar screamed as a sleepy toothy cow began slobbering on his foot, Nia rushed to help. After the children fell into a den below, Nia told Oskar to help her move a log so the children could climb out.
Nia and Oskar got the log through one of the holes in the ground and Nia quietly told the children to climb out. She watched Artham jump in after Podo and Janner discovered the den was a rockroach den and fought off the gargan rockroach and eventually get taken by one of the trolls. After Janner and Podo at last got out, General Khrak on the other side of the gully threatened to have Artham killed if they don't surrender. Nia and her family were able to flee when the gargan rockroach, having consumed the water from the First Well after Janner threw it in its mouth, burst from the ground and attacked the Fangs. Nia and her family rested when they reached the River Blapp and they tried to figure out where to go next.
Podo said they will head to Torrboro, but Nia pointed out that it will be crawling with Fangs and is also too far. Oskar suggested Miller's Bridge at Fingap Falls and Nia and her family decided to try that. However, when they reached the falls, they discovered that there was no bridge.
Fingap Falls[]
When Kalmar found steps, Nia and her family followed them to what seemed to be a dead end, however, they soon discovered Miller's Bridge hidden in the mist. Nia quickly saved Janner and Kalmar just as a boulder crashed into the bridge, leaving a gap. Nia was the first to jump across the gap and she was followed by Leeli, Janner and Kalmar, Oskar, and Podo. Nia and her family ran across the bridge, but when they were halfway, Podo and the boys stopped to fight back the Fangs and Nia told him to keep the boys safe. After Podo killed one of the trolls, Nia lifted Leeli from Nugget just before the dog bolted back to the bridge and attacked the second troll and caused the bridge to break. Nia watched the moment Nugget sacrificed himself by pulling the troll into the water.
Nia and her family set up camp for the night at some ruins and Nia comforted Leeli as they all mourned Nugget's death. She watched Leeli play a dirge for Nugget by the cliffs and later on held Janner in her arms after he had gone unconscious. When he woke up, he said someone is near and Nia asked who, and he told her Gnag the Nameless.
Stranded[]
As the family were having breakfast, Nia comforted Leeli, who was sitting near the cliffs looking out at the Dark Sea. When a toothy cow came charging toward the camp, Nia grabbed Leeli and quickly hid. The cow dropped dead and Nia and her family discovered a Strander spear in its side. They made their way through northern Glipwood Forest and when Oskar brought up Ouster Will, Nia recited a spooky poem about Ouster Will. Nia and her family eventually encountered a Strander girl named Maraly who demanded to know where her cow went. After Podo gave her directions, Maraly escorted Nia and her family to her camp. They were introduced to the chief named Claxton Weaver and he threatened to kill them if they failed to give him anything good enough.
Nia listened to Podo's story about his time in the Strand and how he had pocketed Growlfist the Strander King's pone. However, Claxton didn't believe the story and ordered for Nia, Podo, and Oskar to be thrown into the river. They were saved when Kalmar pocketed Claxton's pone and became the new clan chief. The next day, Nia and her family were forced to leave when a Strander call announced that the Black Carriage was coming. Nia and her family were led by Maraly to an entrance to the Strander tunnels and they made their way to a Strander burrow beneath an abandoned house in Dugtown.
The Roundish Widow[]
Nia waited with the children for Podo and Oskar to return, and she told Janner, Kalmar, and Leeli to write about the Igiby cottage, do a drawing of the Igiby cottage, and write a melody titled "The Igiby Cottage" respectively. Later on, Oskar told Nia what he had discovered when reading the First Book. When it was one hour to midnight, Nia and her family crept through the streets to the Roundish Widow where a man named Ronchy McHiggins was waiting for them. He told Nia and her family that their guide to the Ice Prairies, Migg, will arrive shortly after he leaves. Nia and her family waited for a bit and soon Migg arrived and explained to the family the perils they will encounter. When Kalmar and Janner were hungry, Nia permitted them to look for some food behind the counter.
Migg eventually betrayed Nia and her family and let the Fangs into the tavern, and Nia tried to rush over to Janner and Kalmar, but was unable to without risking the Fangs learning where they were. As Podo fought back the Fangs, Nia, Leeli, and Oskar tried to open the side door to escape, but none of them could break it open. Nia and her family were able to escape when Podo rammed into the door but when they got outside, they were surrounded by Fangs. They were save by the Florid Sword, who told them to flee while they still could. Nia tried to get to the boys but Podo assured her that they know where to go. Nia looked at the boys through the window with tear-filled eyes and told them to stay put and stay together before she fled with the others.
The Sundering[]
Nia waited in the Strander burrow for the boys with Leeli, Podo, and Oskar. Worried for her sons, Nia said that if they don't arrive by nightfall, she is going to look for them herself. Podo told her Leeli still needs her and said he will go, but Oskar pointed out Podo's broken arm will do him no good so he will go instead. When Oskar returned, he informed Nia and her family that he couldn't find the boys. Maraly arrived and told Nia and her family that the Stranders put a bounty on them so they should leave while they still can.
The Fork! Factory![]
Nia could be seen in the background of Janner's vision of Leeli.
Escape to the North[]
Nia was travelling through the Stony Mountains with Podo, Leeli, and Oskar. At one point, she stopped and looked out at the horizon with a sad look on her face.
