Dragon Hunters, also called dragoneers, hunted dragons before the craft was banned. The price for every part of a dragon became priceless, and many were lured to the dangerous craft because of the chance for riches. Dragoneering is quite vain because the hunters are seen as heroes of the sea on land, but in reality they on sail out to sea, and capture young dragons, or sqyrms. The full-grown dragons, or wyrms, are too difficult to catch. Most dragon hunters only capture one or two dragons a year, until Podo Helmer set out a voyage to the Sunken Mountains aboard the Gilded Whilly and almost caught two in a day, but the Gilded Whilly was destroyed before it could make it back to port.
